FEATURE PROJECT
Oakridge Open Concept
Project Details
This 1960’s ranch was in desperate need of a refresh. The old kitchen and adjoining structural walls were removed to create a large open concept kitchen and dining space. Flush beams were installed to create the clean open surface needed to bring the vision to life. Removing the walls allowed for a significant increase in natural light with the combination of the skylight and new rear patio door and window. The bright and airy feel was further enhanced by the wide plank white oak flooring throughout putting the brown British pub décor to rest.
The new kitchen features chiffon coloured shaker style perimeter cabinets paired with the suede maple island cabinetry to give the homeowners the contemporary look they were after. The cabinetry also features a custom built in pantry/beverage centre. The addition of brushed gold cabinet hardware was chosen to compliment the whole aesthetic, and the gold faucet helped to add more contrast to the white surfaces without detracting from the overall look. The vertical brick style backsplash gives extra dimension and juxtaposes the existing straight square lines of the cabinetry. The entire main floor was also treated to new paint, trim, doors, fixtures, and hardware.

Our clients say it best
We had an amazing experience with Riverside Construction. They paid attention to every detail during each stage of the renovation. Communication was great, we loved stopping by each day to see the progress and get an update – usually from Joey who was present on site. Their work was very thorough, bringing things to our attention that we never would have thought of, such as reframing our skylight to ensure we get the maximum light in our kitchen. We did not feel as though they were trying to upsell during the process, which we have heard can happen with other contractors. We are now in love with our home and are proud to be able to have people over and show it off. We could not be more thankful to Riverside Construction and look forward to other projects with them in the future!
