FEATURE PROJECT
Stone and Flow
Project Details
This renovation reimagined the home’s main floor, laundry/mudroom, and primary ensuite to better support everyday family life while elevating how the home feels and functions. By opening up key areas and refining the layout, the result is a brighter, more welcoming space designed for both connection and comfort.
Removing a central wall on the main floor completely transformed the flow between the kitchen, dining, and living areas. The new open concept allows gatherings to happen naturally, anchored by a spacious navy island topped in Cambria Brittanica quartz that offers generous prep space and casual seating. Crisp white perimeter cabinetry keeps the room feeling light, while a dramatic stone veneer wine wall adds texture and personality as a focal feature. A band of warm walnut cabinetry beneath the stone ties seamlessly into the new wide-plank oak flooring, creating a cohesive and grounded aesthetic throughout the space.
The adjacent laundry and mudroom were redesigned with practicality in mind, adding expanded cabinetry and open shelving to handle everything from daily laundry needs to overflow pantry and seasonal storage. In the primary ensuite, the existing footprint was reworked to maximize usability, introducing a freestanding tub, an enlarged glass-enclosed shower, and a custom double vanity with improved storage. Durable, easy-to-maintain finishes ensure the space performs as beautifully as it looks—bringing together thoughtful design and everyday function across the entire home.

Our clients say it best
We are very pleased with our main floor renovation with Greg and the team at Riverside Construction. Simon, Dave and Richard kept us on track and updated during the project. Their in house staff, as well as the trade partners, were friendly, respectful and professional throughout our project. We appreciated the time and effort put into finding our discontinued house brick to patch the old fireplace vent, and also the precision and skill put into the wine display on the stone wall backdrop.
We are fully confident recommending the team at Riverside Construction.
